Freelancers at HAAB: What Works and What Doesn’t

Freelancing comes with a lot of perks: freedom, flexibility, autonomy. But it also has its challenges—like isolation, lack of structure, or the struggle to separate personal life from work. That’s why more and more freelancers are turning to coworking spaces to find balance… and that’s where HAAB comes in.

Since I started working at HAAB, I’ve experienced firsthand what truly works (and what doesn’t) for us freelancers. Here’s an honest look:

✅ What Works

1. A productive atmosphere
HAAB offers something that’s hard to find: a calm space with just the right amount of energy. It’s not a dull office or a noisy coffee shop. It strikes that perfect balance where you can focus and still feel connected to life around you.

2. A no-pressure community
You don’t have to be super outgoing to connect here. People come from all kinds of industries and backgrounds, and there’s always an open vibe—whether it’s sharing ideas, collaborating, or just having a casual hallway chat that breaks up your day.

3. Thoughtfully designed spaces
From individual desks to phone booths and meeting rooms, HAAB is built to support different work styles. As a freelancer, I appreciate the flexibility and choice.

4. Events and networking opportunities
Without being pushy or overly formal, HAAB’s events offer a great way to meet others, learn new things, and even land clients or collaborators.

❌ What Doesn’t Work (So Well)

1. Limited hours on certain plans
Most membership plans offer solid access, but if you tend to work late nights or weekends, some plans might feel restrictive.

2. Occasional distractions
While the overall environment is great, common areas like the lounge or coffee bar can sometimes get noisy. It’s nothing major—but good to have your headphones ready.

3. Not everyone engages
Part of the magic of coworking is the community—but not all members get involved. That’s totally normal, but if you’re expecting a super social or collaborative space all the time, you might feel a bit let down.

Final Thoughts

HAAB has become an anchor in my freelancing routine. It’s not perfect—no space is—but it offers exactly what many of us need: a professional yet human environment. If you’re a freelancer looking for a space that supports you without getting in your way, it’s definitely worth checking out.
